Apex, vortex and hydrocyclone spares

Hydrocyclone spare parts manufactured in silicon carbide (SiC) in its different grades and/or polyurethane, to each customer's design and specification. Supplied as bare ceramic or with a rubber or polyurethane backing. Two ceramic grades: reaction-bonded silicon carbide (RBSiC) and sintered silicon carbide (SiSiC), which lasts up to 5 times longer than RBSiC.

APEX — Silicon carbide discharge nozzle

The lower discharge nozzle of the hydrocyclone: the part that sets the cut point and the one that wears fastest, because the whole coarse load leaves through it. Made in silicon carbide, it holds its orifice diameter stable throughout its service life, so the cut does not drift open and the underflow stays under control. Manufactured to the customer's diameter, in RBSiC or SiSiC, bare or with rubber or polyurethane backing.

VORTEX FINDER — Overflow pipe

The central pipe through which the overflow leaves. It works with turbulent flow on both faces, and its wear shifts the cut towards coarser particles, with a direct loss of recovery in the grinding circuit. In silicon carbide it keeps its internal geometry — and therefore its classification efficiency — far longer than any metallic version. Available as bare ceramic or with an elastomeric backing.

SPIGOT — Interchangeable discharge insert

Insert at the apex end, machined to size so the discharge diameter can be adjusted without replacing the whole assembly. It lets the underflow density be tuned per campaign and concentrates wear on a quick-change part instead of forcing a full cone strip-down. Ground finish across the whole working surface.

CONE & CHAMBER — Ceramic lining

Conical sections and feed chamber lined in silicon carbide, where the slurry starts to rotate and erosion is tangential and constant. The ceramic lining multiplies the interval between maintenance stops compared with rubber alone, especially in grinding circuits with high solids density and coarse particle size.

CERAMIC BUSH — Cylindrical wear insert

Cylindrical silicon carbide insert for the straight sections of the cyclone and for feed inlets, where the slurry strikes constantly and always in the same place. It replaces the metallic or rubber bush in high-abrasion duties and is supplied in RBSiC or SiSiC depending on how demanding the application is. The same part is also made in high-resistance polyurethane when the particle is fine and the attack is more erosive than abrasive.

HYDROCYCLONE CLUSTER — Full spares package

Supply of the complete wear-part set for a hydrocyclone cluster: apex, vortex finders, spigots, cones and linings, consistent in grade and dimensionally identical to one another. Delivering the whole cluster from a single batch avoids the classic problem of cyclones on the same line cutting differently because each one carries spares from a different source.
